The results of the test takers are shown on a certificate on two scales: the percentile rank (scale 1-100) and a standardised value, the TestAS Score (scale from 0-200) in the digital TestAS and the standard value (scale 70-130) in the paper-based TestAS.

When the TestAS was revised and converted to a digital format, the form of result feedback was redesigned as well. As before, the percentile rank allows for the easy ranking of candidates.
The previous standard score of the paper-based version has been replaced by the new TestAS score. By expanding the scale to the range of 0-200, it is easier to read and interpret. The average range is between scores 50 and 150, divided into an upper and lower average range at score 100. Test takers above 150 have perfomed above-average in the TestAS. The top two percent of test takers receive a TestAS score of 200. This equals a standard score between 120 and 130, a scorewell above average.
The new TestAS score thus takes into account the specifics of test taker distribution and testing.
The TestAS scores for the Core Module and the Subject-Specific Module are each reported in two scales: the percentile rank (scale from 1–100) and the TestAS score (scale 0–200). The evaluations are carried out across all test dates and locations. This means that even the results of all previous test takers are always included.
The percentile rank makes it easy to create rankings of test takers. For example, a percentile rank of 60 means that 60 per cent of all test takers have achieved a lower or equally good result (conversely, 40 per cent have achieved a higher result).
The TestAS score quickly indicates whether a performance is in the lower or upper average range (50–100 or 100–150) or whether it is above average (150–195) or excellent (200). The TestAS certificate also shows an overall score (scale 0–400).
TestAS makes otherwise incommensurable school-leaving qualifications from different types of schools and various countries and educational systems commensurable. Thus, it ensures fairness in the selection process. It is an effective tool for precise applicant selection, as successful performance in the test provides a valid prognosis for academic success.
The results can be used to create rankings. Alternatively, a cut-off score can be used to define a desired minimum score. In so-called bonus models, applications can be upgraded with extra points based on the TestAS result.
Various options for using TestAS to evaluate applicants, such as setting minimum scores or voluntarily uprating applications, offer universities flexible options for selecting and admitting students, especially international school leavers.
