Where is TestAS required?

TestAS as part of the selection process.

Many German universities use the TestAS in their admission processess. A good TestAS result can increase your prospects of acceptance at the university of your choice, as it demonstrates your academic abilities and potential.

In some cases, a TestAS certificate is even a requirement for application. Please check the websites of the universities of your choice.

For prospective students from China, Vietnam and India, TestAS is part of the APS procedure.

Course preparation and scholarship programmes

TestAS is also used as a selection criterion or for quality assurance in various programmes (e.g. for study preparation and for scholarship holders).

Examples:

 

‘TestAS has been an integral part of the Studienbrücke programme since its start. Studienbrücke is a joint programme of the Goethe-Institut, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and various partner universities in Germany. The programme offers school leavers without a university entrance qualification direct access to a university degree.

Ruhr University Bochum has been one of the partner universities since the beginning of the programme, having helped develop Studienbrücke. To be admitted to Studienbrücke, a TestAS score is required. This has demonstrably ensured the particularly high quality of the applicants.’
