TestAS is offered in German and English. In a few cases, the universities specify whether TestAS should be taken in a particular language. Please check the university websites for more information.
Your language skills should be at least at level B1 of the European Framework of Reference for Languages in order to take the TestAS.
If you want to test your language skills, you can register for the onSET or the TestDaF. In preparation for the TestAS and for your planned studies in Germany, you should continuously work on improving your language skills.
Paper-based TestAS: No. The Core Test and Subject-Specific Module are completed on paper with a pen.
Digital TestAS: You take the core and subject-specific module on a computer. However, you do not need any special computer skills for this.
You should familiarise yourself with the TestAS format. You will find instructions and sample questions for both test formats on this website. We strongly advise that you work through these sample questions.
You can also find introductory videos for the digital TestAS that will familiarise you with the structure and functions of the implementation software. In addition, you can access a demo version of the digital TestAS after registering in the participant portal.
Please note that TestAS measures a wide range of knowledge and skills that cannot be learned and trained at short notice.
